I'm a non-smoker and had a case of tuberculosis back in 2015. For the last 1.8 years, I've been dealing with a buildup of phlegm, and I just found out my IgE level is 489 IUml. Could this mean I'm dealing with asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, or something else? I'm really worried about whether this could cause more damage to my lungs over time. What do you think?

  2. Phlegm Buildup: a. Persistent phlegm could indicate chronic bronchitis or asthma. b. Further evaluation, including spirometry, is recommended to differentiate between these conditions.

  3. Potential Lung Damage: a. Chronic inflammation from untreated asthma or bronchitis can lead to lung damage. b. Early diagnosis and management are crucial to prevent progression.

  4. Recommendations: a. Consult a pulmonologist for a comprehensive assessment. b. Consider allergy testing and pulmonary function tests for accurate diagnosis and management.
