I'm noticing a strange odor from my vagina and I'm not sure what it might be. My partner has herpes, but we're always really careful and take a lot of precautions. I've been feeling fine otherwise, but this smell is making me nervous. Could something serious be going on?

The bad odor from your vagina could be caused by various factors such as bacterial vaginosis (BV), yeast infections, trichomoniasis, or poor hygiene, and while herpes isn't typically associated with vaginal odor, it's essential to consult a gynecologist for a proper evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to rule out any underlying infections or conditions.

View allI've noticed that my period has been longer than usual, lasting up to 10 days, and I took a pregnancy test but it came back negative. Then, I experienced very light bleeding mixed with a watery discharge for a couple of days. Lately, I've been dealing with a pretty bad pain on my right side and it's affecting my back too. I'm really concerned and would love to get some advice on what might be going on and what I should do next. Any thoughts?

I recently found out I have a right ovarian cyst measuring 95.5 cc with a peripherally situated solid component of about 12x6 mm in the adnexal area from my ultrasound. My CA-125 is 8.5, which is normal. My doctor initially suggested surgery but then prescribed me Derivery 10 mg daily for 3 months when I asked about medicine options. I'm 24 and not married should I be worried about the cyst or the treatment plan? Is medicine enough or should I consider surgery?
It's understandable to be concerned about your ovarian cyst, especially with the initial suggestion of surgery. While a normal CA-125 level and your age are positive factors, the size and solid component of the cyst warrant caution. Whether medicine or surgery is the best option depends on your individual circumstances and the potential for complications. It's crucial to have a thorough discussion with your doctor about the pros and cons of each approach.
