I'm really curious about the BSFPP blood test that my doctor mentioned. I know it's important to fast before some blood tests, but I'm not exactly sure how long I need to fast for this one. Could you let me know how many hours I should be fasting for a BSFPP blood test? I'm a bit worried about getting it right.

Ideally 6 hrs of gap would help for fasting sample and 90mins after food for postlinch sample

View allMy puppy is really young and going through the teething phase. It seems to bite everything, including my hands and feet. Just a day ago, it tried to bite me, and when I moved my hand away, its teeth scratched me, causing a bit of bleeding. On the same day, it also scratched me while playing, and it drew blood again. I know the puppy's mom is a stray and she wasn't vaccinated, but the puppy hasn't had any other contact with outside animals except for her. Do you think I need a rabies shot because of these scratches? Should my siblings be concerned if they've played with the puppy and were bitten, even if there wasn't any bleeding? It's been two days since the scratch. What should I do?
Rabies transmission from a scratch is very unlikely, especially if there was no saliva contact with the wound. If the puppy seems healthy and is not exhibiting symptoms of rabies, you do not need a rabies shot at this time. Your siblings are at low risk as long as they were not bitten deeply or exposed to saliva on open wounds. It's always safer to clean the wounds well and seek advice from a doctor or local health authorities if you are still concerned.

I'm dealing with a cold and cough and am unsure about what kind of meals would be best to eat right now. Also, I'm trying to avoid citrus fruits, so I'm wondering which fruits would be good alternatives. Can I drink coconut water during this time too?
When having a cold and cough, opt for warm, nourishing meals like chicken soup, vegetable broths, and easy-to-digest foods like rice, bananas, and toast; for fruits, consider alternatives to citrus fruits like apples, grapes, and mangoes, which are rich in vitamins and antioxidants; coconut water can be consumed in moderation, as it provides hydration and electrolytes, but be mindful of its high sugar content.
