I'm really worried about my mom. She had CABG surgery about four months ago, and ever since, she's been dealing with a dry cough. I recently had her get an X-ray, and luckily, it showed everything's normal. But I'm still concerned. Is this something we should be worried about? Could it be related to her surgery or is it something else entirely?

Since your mother's X-ray showed everything is normal, it is less likely to be a serious issue. To help alleviate the dry cough, you can give her a cough suppressant like Delsym (dextromethorphan) 30mg every 6 hours as needed. Additionally, she can try using a humidifier at home to keep the air moist. If the dry cough persists or worsens, it would be advisable to consult with her cardiologist for further evaluation and management.

I'm getting these episodes of chest pain and heaviness on my left side that go down to my shoulder and arm, and they last a really long time, like more than a day. They happen randomly without any exertion, and it's scary. I had an ECG during a panic attack, and it showed a heart rate of 130 bpm with sinus tachycardia, but I was discharged after 12 hours. Another time, I felt that chest heaviness with a burning sensation again, and the echocardiography came out normal. The doctor said there's nothing to worry about cardiac-wise, but the anxiety and fear are hard to shake off. Should I consider a stress test or something, even though my ECG was normal at that rate?

Is it possible to treat heart blockage just with medications and lifestyle changes without needing surgery or angioplasty I'm worried because I've heard mixed opinions and want to know if avoiding procedures is a safe option for managing it

conservative therapy fails ,angioplasty is the only resort.

I'm trying to figure out how long the results of a treadmill test are good for. I had mine done about 28 days ago, and it was negative. I'm also curious about how long an ECG test stays valid. Can you help me out with this?

A treadmill test (TMT) result is typically considered valid for about 6 months to 1 year, depending on the individual's health condition and any changes in symptoms. Since your TMT was negative 28 days ago, it should still be considered valid. As for an ECG test, it is generally valid for a shorter period, usually around 1-2 weeks. If you have any concerns or new symptoms, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.
