I'm really worried about typhoid and how it's passed between people. Can it be spread through kissing or other close contact? How likely is it to be transmitted from one person to another this way?

Typhoid fever is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. It is typically transmitted through the ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Salmonella typhi. However, close contact with an infected person can increase the risk of transmission. It is important to practice good hygiene, such as washing hands regularly and avoiding sharing utensils, to help prevent the spread of typhoid fever. If you suspect you have been exposed to typhoid fever, antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin or Azithromycin can be prescribed for treatment.

View allI'm a bit worried because my cat just scratched me on the leg and it broke the skin. This isn't the first time it's happened with the same cat, and now I'm reading about this Cat Scratch Disease. It doesn't hurt right now, but I'm really concerned it might turn into something serious. Should I be worried about this, and is there anything specific I should watch out for?
Cat Scratch Disease is usually a mild illness that resolves on its own. However, it's important to keep an eye on any symptoms that may develop, such as swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, fatigue, or a rash. To reduce the risk of infection, you can clean the scratch with soap and water, apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment, and cover it with a bandage. If you develop any concerning symptoms, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like acetaminophen and consult with a doctor.

I'm feeling quite anxious about something that happened over three weeks ago. I got bitten on the hand by a bat, and when I saw a general physician, they suggested just a tetanus shot. They mentioned that rabies vaccines aren't necessary for bat bites here in India. But I'm getting worried now. Is that really the case? Should I be doing anything else to protect myself from rabies?
its better to take rabies vaccine as a precautionary measure

I'm worried about an HIV test I took. It was a 4th generation CMIA antigen and antibody test, and it came back non-reactive. This was after I received oral sex 6 years ago. I'm relieved but also concerned because I was using nasal steroids at the time of the test as part of my treatment. Could those steroids have affected the test result and made it a false negative? What are your thoughts on this?
