I'm supposed to get an operation as my doctor recommended, but I'm really not comfortable with endoscopy surgery. On top of that, I'm working and it's tough to get time off. Is there any alternative option that might work for me?

I'm experiencing this mild pain around my ribs on both sides, and it's been bothering me whenever I move. I got a chest X-ray, but the results seemed unclear since it was just black and white. I also struggle a lot with acidity and gastric issues, and there's this burning sensation in the middle of my chest. Plus, the pain seems to extend to my right shoulder, coming from the chest area. I'm a bit worried and not sure what's going on. Could you advise on what might be causing these symptoms and which type of doctor I should see to get this figured out?

X-Rays radiographs are black and white itself. Do not expect colors in that. As of now, take a tab. Rantac 150mg twice a day half an hour before food for 10 days. If it still persists, consult a MD consultant physician in person for further evaluation and management.

my wife has a gallstone and we're really worried about it. should we see a specialist or can a regular doctor handle this? is surgery the only way to treat it or are there medicines that can dissolve the stones? what are our options here

It's understandable to be worried about gallstones. While a regular doctor can diagnose and manage gallstones, a gastroenterologist or surgeon specializing in gallbladder issues can offer specialized treatment options. Surgery (cholecystectomy) is often recommended for symptomatic gallstones, but medication and other procedures may be considered.
