I'm thinking about starting Novelon tablets for my polycystic ovaries to help regulate my periods. I'm a bit concerned though, will taking them cause me to gain weight? I do plan on taking them with my doctor's advice, but Id love to know if this has been an issue for others in the past. Can you confirm?

Novelon tablet, containing desogestrel, is a progestin-only pill used to regulate menstrual cycles, including in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), but it may not directly address polycystic ovaries; regarding weight gain, Novelon is considered weight-neutral, meaning it's unlikely to cause significant weight gain, but individual responses may vary;

I'm wondering how frequently I can use Unwanted 72. Is it safe if I've already taken it twice in one month? What kind of issues might arise from this?

Possible Causes_ 1. _Infection_: Bacterial or viral infections, such as pneumonia, urinary tract infection (UTI), or sepsis. 2. _Malaria or dengue fever_: Mosquito-borne illnesses that can cause fever, chills, and shivering. 3. _Hypothyroidism_: An underactive thyroid gland can cause shivering, even with normal body temperature. 4. _Medication side effects_: Certain medications, such as beta-blockers or sedatives, can cause shivering. 5. _Other medical conditions_: Sepsis, meningitis, or encephalitis. _Immediate Action_ 1. _Seek medical attention_: Take your brother to the hospital or consult a doctor immediately. 2. _Monitor vital signs_: Keep track of temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. 3. _Provide hydration_: Offer water or electrolyte-rich beverages to help replace lost fluids. _Please Note_ 1. _Do not attempt to treat at home_: Uncontrollable shivering and fever require medical attention. 2. _Inform medical professionals about medications_: Share information about any medications your brother is taking.

My girlfriend and I are really worried. Her last period started on March 1st and we had unprotected sex on March 17th. She took an emergency contraception pill just three hours after. Now, weeks later, she's missed her period, and we've taken three pregnancy tests, which all came back positive. She's also been experiencing stomach cramps, lower back pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting. What should we do?

Sounds like your girlfriend may be experiencing symptoms of early pregnancy. The stomach cramps, lower back pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting are common symptoms during the early stages of pregnancy. For nausea and vomiting, she can take Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 25mg three times a day. For stomach cramps and lower back pain, she can take Acetaminophen 500mg every 6 hours as needed for pain. It is important for her to stay hydrated and eat small, frequent meals to help with the symptoms. I recommend consulting with an obstetrician for further evaluation and management of her pregnancy.

I'm dealing with PCOD and my gyno suggested I take ovacare Cap and APCOD 5gm sachet to help me conceive. But I only took ovacare and Ive missed my period days. Could it be possible to conceive just with the Ovacare tablet? I checked last Saturday and it was negative. What should I do? My last period started on October 30th, and I checked on December 10th. Any advice?

Ovacare is a supplement designed to support women's reproductive health, particularly for those with PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disorder). While Ovacare can help regulate menstrual cycles and improve fertility, it's essential to understand that conception is a complex process. _Conception with Ovacare Alone_ It's possible, but unlikely, to conceive with Ovacare alone, especially if you have PCOD. Ovacare is a supplement, not a fertility medication. PCOD often requires more comprehensive treatment, including medications that stimulate ovulation, like Clomid. _Negative Pregnancy Test_ Given that you took the pregnancy test on December 10th, and your last period started on October 30th, it's possible that you might have ovulated later than expected. PCOD can cause irregular ovulation, making it challenging to predict fertile windows. _Next Steps_ 1. _Consult your gynecologist_: Discuss your treatment plan, and ask about the possibility of ovulation induction medications. 2. _Continue Ovacare_: If your doctor recommends it, continue taking Ovacare as directed. 3. _Track your ovulation_: Use ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) or basal body temperature (BBT) charting to monitor your ovulation. 4. _Try again_: If you haven't already, try to conceive again during your next fertile window. Please consult your gynecologist for personalized guidance and to discuss the best course of treatment for your PCOD and fertility goals.
