I'm thinking about starting Novelon tablets for my polycystic ovaries to help regulate my periods. I'm a bit concerned though, will taking them cause me to gain weight? I do plan on taking them with my doctor's advice, but Id love to know if this has been an issue for others in the past. Can you confirm?

Novelon tablet, containing desogestrel, is a progestin-only pill used to regulate menstrual cycles, including in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), but it may not directly address polycystic ovaries; regarding weight gain, Novelon is considered weight-neutral, meaning it's unlikely to cause significant weight gain, but individual responses may vary;

View allI've been having issues with intercourse because of tightness in my vagina it feels like there's not enough space, and it's causing a mental block too. Is there any surgical option to help widen the area? I'm really hoping to conceive soon and wondering what my options are.
It sounds like you're experiencing Vaginismus, a condition where the vaginal muscles involuntarily tighten, making intercourse painful or difficult. While there's no surgical option to permanently widen the vagina, there are effective non-surgical treatments that can help relax the muscles and address the mental block, paving the way for easier intercourse and a smoother path to conception.

I've been keeping track of my wife's last period date, which was May 1st, 2021, and we've noticed that she missed her period this month. We've done four pregnancy tests at home, and all of them came out positive. So, we're really wondering if this means she's actually pregnant?

I'm having this persistent pain in my right side nipple that's been going on for over a month now, and it's really affecting my daily life. I got a USG done, and everything seemed clear, but I'm constantly feeling tired and there's always this mild pain. I'm currently on treatment which includes Asmitha and 21 Aciloc RD Primerose, but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there any specific screening for nipple health, not just breast checks? Sometimes it feels like there's something inside the nipple if there's no pain. I've already seen more than five gynecologists and I'm really stressed out about this. I'm unmarried, and I had one ovary removed three years ago. Could you suggest the next steps for screening or treatment that might help?
Considering your persistent right-sided nipple pain, fatigue, and mild pain despite normal ultrasound results and ongoing treatment, consult a breast specialist or a dermatologist for a thorough evaluation; additional screening tests, such as a ductogram, nipple discharge cytology, or a high-frequency ultrasound, may help identify the underlying cause; also, discuss the possibility of nipple thrush, eczema, or other dermatological conditions with your doctor, and explore alternative treatments, such as topical creams or antibiotics, to alleviate your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
