I'm trying to figure out which is better for fighting acne: Perobar 2.5 or Dermadew Acne Soap. I've come across some reviews that mention these soaps might darken the normal color of the face. Is there any truth to that?

Between Perobar 2.5% and Dermadew Acne Soap, Perobar 2.5% is likely more effective against acne.
Perobar 2.5%
- Contains benzoyl peroxide: A well-known acne-fighting ingredient that kills bacteria, reduces inflammation, and unclogs pores.
- Stronger formulation: 2.5% benzoyl peroxide is a relatively strong concentration, making it more effective against acne.
Dermadew Acne Soap
- Milder formulation: Dermadew Acne Soap may contain milder ingredients, such as tea tree oil or salicylic acid, which are less effective against severe acne.
- May not be as effective: Dermadew Acne Soap might not be as effective as Perobar 2.5% in reducing acne severity.
Skin Darkening Concerns
- Unlikely to darken skin: Neither Perobar 2.5% nor Dermadew Acne Soap is likely to darken your skin tone.
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH): If you experience acne inflammation, it may lead to PIH, causing temporary dark spots.
To minimize the risk of PIH, use sunscreen daily, avoid picking or popping pimples, and follow a consistent skincare routine.

View allI've got these dark spots and areas of darker skin on my bum, plus some stretch marks, and while I'm usually confident about my body, these things make me feel a bit uncomfortable. Could you help me figure out a solution?
The dark spots and dark skin around them may be due to hyperpigmentation. You can use a cream containing hydroquinone and tretinoin to lighten the dark spots. Apply it once at night for a few weeks. For the stretch marks, you can use a cream containing retinoids and hyaluronic acid to improve their appearance. Remember to use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin."
