I'm using this cream called Lulican and I've been at it for about a week now. My skin is starting to peel, and while the itching has gone down a bit, the redness and marks haven't improved at all. Is this cream supposed to be doing this? Did I get the right diagnosis?

  1. Understanding Lulican (Luliconazole 1% Cream) and Its Uses

    • Lulican is typically prescribed for fungal skin infections. It works by reducing fungal growth and alleviating symptoms like itching and redness.
  2. Possible Side Effects of Lulican Cream

    • Common side effects include mild skin irritation, redness, or peeling. Persistent peeling and redness may indicate an adverse reaction.
  3. Interpreting Your Symptoms

    • Reduction in itching is a positive sign. However, persistent redness and peeling could suggest irritation, an allergic reaction, or an incorrect diagnosis.
  4. Importance of Correct Diagnosis

    • Fungal infections are diagnosed through clinical examination and sometimes lab tests. Persistent symptoms despite treatment may require reassessment.
  5. Recommended Next Steps

    • Stop using the cream if irritation worsens and consult a dermatologist promptly. Consider alternative treatments or further investigations.
  6. When to Seek Immediate Medical Attention

    • Seek urgent care if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction or worsening skin condition.
