It tends to swell and becomes painful, especially during my periods, but other times it's just there, like a little ball under the skin that I can feel when I touch it. I tried using a hot compress like my gynecologist suggested. While it helped with the swelling a bit, the bump still hasn't gone away. What could this be, and should I be doing something else to treat it?

Your complain should be addressed to a Dermatologist. You may have a Bartholin's cyst. You may need to take antibiotics. Additionally, you can use a sitz bath with warm water a few times a day to help with the discomfort. If the cyst persists, you may need a procedure called marsupialization to drain it.
