I've been dealing with a cold, runny nose, and a slight fever since this morning. Now I've lost my sense of smell and taste. Should I be worried? Does this sound like COVID or just a regular flu? And how long might it take for my taste and smell to come back? Would love some advice.

Losing smell and taste, combined with cold, runny nose, and slight fever, could be indicative of COVID-19, but it's also possible with other viral infections like the common flu; to determine the cause, consider getting a COVID-19 test, rest, stay hydrated, and use over-the-counter medications to alleviate symptoms; your sense of smell and taste should return once the infection resolves, usually within 7-14 days.

View allI'm really concerned about my sister. She was just diagnosed with dengue yesterday, and it was her first day of having a fever. The doctor prescribed pcm and pan, but her fever hasn't come down at all. Her temperature is stuck at 104.6, and her platelet count is 2 lakhs. Should I be worried? Also, any suggestions on what she can eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that might be suitable for her? She's 30 years old and currently experiencing full body pain, saying her body is burning. I'm really anxious since she hasn't eaten anything yet. Is there something I can do to help her feel better? And is it okay to give her solo again now since I gave her some at 9 pm last night?

Can I drink an ORS solution once or twice daily for rehydration? Is this safe, or could it cause problems for me later on? Should I be using something else like glucose instead since my doctor mentioned I've lost a lot of water in my body? What do you recommend?
ORS can be taken once or twice daily for rehydration, especially if you're experiencing dehydration. It helps replenish lost electrolytes safely. However, glucose alone is not as effective for rehydration since it lacks electrolytes. Stick to ORS for better hydration, but consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

I'm taking this renerve plus tablet, and it's honestly so huge that it hurts my throat when I try to swallow it. I'm wondering if it's okay to cut the capsule in half and take it that way?
Yes you can take in that way.
