I've been diagnosed with a 2cm vestibular schwannoma on my left side and have moderate sensorineural hearing loss. Right now, hearing loss is my only symptom. Some people recommend radiotherapy like gamma knife or cyber knife because of fewer complications, while others suggest microsurgery. I'm only 28 and want the best treatment that won't affect my quality of life what would you advise?

At 2 cm, radiosurgery (Gamma Knife) offers fewer risks than open surgery—discuss pros/cons with neuro-ENT team.

View allMy dad's MRI report shows some issues and while he doesn't have much pain right now, he feels unsteady when doing activities like jogging. The doctors are recommending surgery soon but I'm wondering if we can wait two months to see if there's any improvement or if surgery is really urgent. Are there any non-surgical options to help strengthen his muscles instead?

My mom has a 1714 mm disc prolapse in her L4-L5 region should we consider surgery or is there a chance it can heal on its own? Really worried and would appreciate some guidance on the best course of action
A disc prolapse, especially in the L4-L5 region, can cause significant pain and discomfort, but it's often managed non-surgically. While the 1714 mm measurement seems high, it's more likely a typo (it's referring to a larger measurement area in the spinal region, not the disc size) and the most important factor is the extent of nerve compression and the severity of your mom's symptoms. Surgery is typically reserved for cases where non-surgical treatments fail or if there are neurological deficits.

Had cervical spine laminectomy surgery 8 months ago and still dealing with neck and shoulder pain when turning my head. My post-surgery MRI report shows everything's fine but the discomfort won't go away. Could this be normal healing or something I should worry about?
