I've been feeling my heartbeat really easily, especially when I'm trying to sleep. I've gone through all the checkups, including wearing a Holter monitor, and everything came back normal. But I still feel my heart, and sometimes it feels like there's a crushing sensation in my chest. What can I do to stop this from happening?

I'm a bit worried about my TMT results that showed inducible ischemia and mentioned a 1 mm ST change in certain leads during exercise. My max heart rate reached 206, with a maximum blood pressure of 18580, and I'm only 33 years old. I exercised for a total of 6 minutes and 19 seconds, reaching a workload of 7.40 METS, but the test was stopped when I hit my max heart rate. My 2D Echo came back normal. Do you think I need to get an angiogram, or is there anything else I should consider?

Given your positive TMT result showing inducible ischemia with 1 mm ST depression in multiple leads, achieving maximum heart rate during the test, and normal 2D Echo results, an angiogram may be recommended to further evaluate the extent and severity of coronary artery disease, especially considering your young age (33) and high workload achieved during the test; consult your cardiologist to discuss the risks and benefits of an angiogram and determine the best course of action.

I'm really worried about my dad, he's 87 and had an angioplasty a few years ago. We just found out he has mild bradycardia. The doctor gave him Flavedon MR, but now he's sleeping almost all day and feeling a bit dizzy. Should we keep him on this medication, or is there something else we should try?

YES..patient has to continue same medicaton.. No need to stop flavedon, mild bradycardia is normal in post angioplasty patients. For his vertigo i would recommend tab vertin 8mg thrice daily, orally after food for atleadt 2 weeks.

I've been tracking my triglycerides, and they were around 260. Lately, I've started doing a brisk walk every day for about 1.5 hours, just following what my doctor suggested. After about 20 days, my triglycerides dropped to 156. Is it normal for them to fall that much, or should I think about getting retested? Also, I'm curious whether high lipid profiles from before can get stuck in the arteries, or do they clear out once the levels go down?

It is possible for your triglyceride levels to decrease with regular exercise like brisk walking. However, it is advisable to repeat the test to confirm the improvement. As for the second part of your question, high lipid profiles can contribute to the buildup of plaque in your arteries over time. Lowering your lipid levels, such as triglycerides, through lifestyle changes and medication can help reduce this buildup and lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
