I've been feeling pretty rough with a cold and flu, plus my nose won't stop running, and swallowing is really hard. I also have hay fever, so I'm kinda worried if that's making everything worse. Could this be something more than just a cold? What should I do to feel better?

I've been told by my doctor that I have a deficiency in B12 and Vitamin D. They've recommended B12 ME12 injection shots for me. I'm a bit concerned and curious about whether it's really safe for me to go with the B12 shots, or if taking a capsule could be a better option instead. Can you help me understand the differences or what might be best for me?

B12 injections like ME-12 are effective for quickly raising levels, especially if your deficiency is significant or absorption is an issue. Capsules can also work if your body absorbs them well, but injections may be recommended for faster results. Always follow your doctor's advice for the best approach.

I'm wondering if fasting is necessary for a Vitamin B12 blood test. I had mine done about 3 hours after lunch, and now I'm second-guessing whether that might have affected the results. Should I think about getting it retested?

A Vitamin B12 blood test does not typically require fasting. It is usually safe to have the test done at any time of the day, regardless of when you last ate. Since you had the test done 3+ hours after lunch, there is no need for a retest. The results should still provide valuable information about your Vitamin B12 levels.

I've been dealing with a running nose and fever for the last few days, and now I've got a sore throat and cough since last night. These seem like symptoms of viral fever, right? Can you recommend any homemade remedies? The weather here is terrible, so I can't get to a doctor.

I recommend taking over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen for fever and sore throat. You can also try using honey and lemon for your sore throat. Additionally, steam inhalation can help with your runny nose and cough. Make sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.
