I've been feeling short of breath sometimes, and my doctor said it's due to anxiety. He put me on Doxolin tablets, which I take twice a day. I'm curious if taking Doxolin is really necessary or beneficial since the breathlessness is because of anxiety, and not an actual respiratory issue. Is it common to use Doxolin in cases like this? Could it have any side effects I should be aware of?

Doxolin, likely a variant of Doxepin, is an antidepressant and anxiolytic, which can help alleviate anxiety-related shortness of breath; taking Doxolin tablets as prescribed by your doctor should help manage your anxiety symptoms, including shortness of breath, without significant side effects, but monitor your breathing, mood, and overall well-being

View allIm dealing with depression and I'm really struggling because I'm stuck in this cycle of masturbating about 45 times a day. It makes me feel awful, and I just can't seem to stop. I'm in 12th grade, preparing for my board exams in science but my focus is shot, and I feel exhausted and sleepy all the time, which isnt helping at all at this critical stage. I know I need help, but I'm not sure how to approach my parents about it. What kind of doctor should I be reaching out to for this situation?

What happens in brain during depression?
Hippocampus in the brain releases cortisol. The influx of cortisol triggered by depression causes the amygdala to enlarge. This is a part of the brain associated with emotional responses. When it becomes larger and more active, it causes sleep disturbances, changes in activity levels, and changes in other hormones.
