I've been on Femilon tablets for the last two months to prevent pregnancy. I always get my period two days after finishing the pack. When should I start taking the tablets again after my period ends? Also, is it a problem if I delay restarting them by a day or two? Are there any potential side effects or issues with this?

-You should restart the next pack of Femilon on the 8th day after finishing the previous pack, even if your periods are ongoing. Delaying the start by 12 days reduces the effectiveness of contraception, so you should use additional protection like cond

View allI'm 20 weeks pregnant and my doctor recommended Dexorange syrup for me. I'm a bit concerned because I noticed it contains 5.5% alcohol. Is it safe for me to be taking this during pregnancy?
Dexorange syrup contains iron and other vitamins, but the alcohol content is a concern during pregnancy. While the amount is small, it's best to consult your doctor regarding its use, as alcohol consumption during pregnancy is generally advised against. Your doctor may suggest an alternative iron supplement without alcohol.

I'm really worried because my wife is 9 weeks pregnant and she's been dealing with a UTI. Her urine culture and sensitivity report confirmed it. Our gynecologist initially prescribed her Niftas 100mg twice a day for 10 days, but after 7 days we did another urine test and it still showed bacteria. The doctor now suggested Uriliser Stafcure cv 250mg and Pantop 40 for another week and then a follow-up urine test. We're both really concerned about the safety of these medicines during pregnancy. She's naturally hesitant to take meds right now and quite scared. Could you please advise us on what we should do?
It is important to treat UTI properly to prevent any complications. The medications prescribed by your gynecologist are considered safe during pregnancy. Uriliser helps to alleviate symptoms of UTI, Stafcure cv 250mg is an antibiotic that targets the bacteria causing the infection, and Pantop 40 helps to reduce stomach acid and prevent any gastric issues that may arise from the antibiotics. It is crucial for your wife to complete the full course of medication as prescribed to effectively clear the infection. UTIs can lead to more serious issues if left untreated, especially during pregnancy. Repeating the urine test after completing the course of these medications will help ensure that the infection has been successfully treated. Encourage your wife to follow the treatment plan as advised by the doctor for the health and safety of both her and the baby.
