I've been having hiccups almost every other day and they stick around all day or at least half of it. It's really starting to get on my nerves. What could be causing this, and is there anything I can do to stop it?

I just turned 17 and accidentally swallowed a jamun seed. I'm kinda freaking out about it. Do you think it's harmless, or could it be something dangerous for my health?

Don't worry, accidentally swallowing a plum seed (jamun) is generally harmless, as the seed's toxic compound, amygdalin, is released only when the seed is crushed or chewed, and the digestive system can pass the intact seed without issues; however, to be cautious, drink plenty of water and monitor your health for any unusual symptoms, and if you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea, seek medical attention.
