Are split ends bad?

Split ends rise further up the hair shaft and may cause hair damage, hair loss. Hair naturally splits around 3 months, hence trimming must be done at least quaterly to prevent it.

I'm a bit worried because I accidentally poked myself on the face with the sharp end of a blackhead extractor, which felt a lot like a sewing needle. After that, about 12 drops of blood came out. The extractor was new and all I did was rinse it with water before using it. Should I be concerned about getting an infection or any kind of disease from this?

Yes take tetanus shot and get your wound cleaned properly for good healing.
