I've been having this nerve compression in my spine that's causing pain and discomfort in my right leg. I understand medications might not fix it completely, but is surgery really the only solution for this kind of problem? Are there other options I should consider first?

My mom has a 17-14mm disc prolapse at L4-L5. Will this heal on its own with rest or does she need surgery? Also, is it okay to keep doing physiotherapy for this?
