I've been having this pain in my leg, and I'm worried it might be because of my high uric acid levels. Could you suggest what I can do about it? Id really appreciate any advice you could give me.

HIgh levels of uric acid lead to gout. Relief from gout pain can be achieved through NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. The medication to lower uric acid levels in the body is called allopurinol (brand name Zyloric). The dosage of each medication will have to be adjusted based on the your uric acid level reports and active symptoms. Opting for low purine content foods can also help reduce uric acid levels in the body.

View allAfter breast abscess surgery, I noticed a reddish lump under the skin of my right leg below the knee, followed by swelling and ankle pain. The doctor diagnosed it as erythema nodosum and prescribed Predmet 8 twice daily for 3 days, which helped at first swelling and pain went away. But then it came back, so the doctor reduced the dose to Predmet 4 twice daily for 2 days. Now the swelling and pain are worse again. What could be going on and what should I do next?
Erythema nodosum, diagnosed after breast abscess surgery, presents as painful, reddish or purple bumps under the skin, often on the shins, but can appear elsewhere, including the legs. The condition is usually a reaction to an infection or medication and can cause swelling and ankle pain, as experienced. While often resolving on its own within weeks, it's crucial to address any underlying conditions causing the erythema nodosum, as it can be a sign of other health issues.

I'm a bit concerned about my Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) results. I recently got tested, and my ESR came back at 27 mmhr, which I hear is 7 mmhr above the normal range for males. Should I be worried about this higher rate? And what could cause my ESR to be elevated like this? Would love some clarity.
Hi Chaithan, An ESR of 27 mmhr is slightly elevated but not necessarily a cause for concern. It can increase due to mild inflammation, infection, stress, or other temporary factors. If youre feeling unwell or have symptoms, its best to consult your doctor for further evaluation. Take care!

I'm really worried because the right side of my upper chest is super tender and sore to touch. I got an MRI of my sternum and a breast ultrasound done, and both came back normal. But it's so sensitive that even a piece of paper against it feels unbearable. What could be causing this, and what should I do next?
