I've been having some issues with my appetite; I don't feel like eating much after just two chapatis. Also, I'm dealing with stomach pain and I'm quite underweight, only around 38 kg at 5'2". I feel tired all the time. I have a history of erosive gastritis with bleeding. Do you think taking Liv 52 could help increase my appetite?

Liv 52 might help with appetite stimulation, it is essential to manage your gastritis and potential bleeding first. Consult with a doctor who can guide you through the proper treatment for your gastritis and also recommend safe ways to improve appetite and nutrition.

View allI'm looking at some of my recent blood work results, and I'm a bit unsure about what they mean. My total bilirubin level is 1.6, direct bilirubin is 0.3, and indirect bilirubin is 1.3. Everything else in my liver tests came back normal, but I'm still concerned if these bilirubin numbers could indicate any health issues. Could you help me understand if there's anything to worry about?
Your bilirubin levels are slightly elevated, primarily due to indirect bilirubin. This could indicate mild liver function changes, hemolysis, or Gilbert's syndrome if you feel well otherwise. Monitor symptoms and consult a doctor for further evaluation if needed.

Does IBS cause weight loss?
It is not very typical to have weight loss in IBS as compared to Ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Due to severe abdominal pain or cramps, persons with IBS may consume less food than they normally would which may lead to weight change but significant weight loss may not be common.
