I've been struggling with bile reflux and the symptoms are really bothering me. Are there any surgical options like bile diversion surgery that could help? I'm not sure what to do about this and would appreciate some guidance on managing it

Bile reflux may benefit from bile diversion or Roux-en-Y surgery in severe cases; most patients improve with medication and lifestyle changes.

I'm really struggling with this issue where my chest keeps getting filled with gas for the last 56 days. I've been drinking a lot of water which helps a bit, but then it just keeps happening. I'm burping all day long and last night I couldn't even sleep because it was so uncomfortable. Even when my chest isn't full, gas still forms in my stomach. Now today, my chest is actually hurting, and sometimes my neck starts to burn because of it. I'm not sure what to do; any suggestions?

You may be experiencing symptoms of acid reflux or GERD. I recommend taking an over-the-counter medication like Omeprazole (Prilosec) 20mg once daily before breakfast. Additionally, you can try Simethicone (Gas-X) to help relieve gas and bloating. Make sure to avoid trigger foods like spicy or acidic foods, caffeine, and carbonated beverages. Elevating your head while sleeping can also help reduce nighttime symptoms. If your symptoms persist, it's important to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.

I'm really worried because for the last couple of weeks, I've been experiencing this burning sensation and pain right in the middle of my chest, and I'm also feeling pain in my right shoulder and just below it. My ECG and troponin levels are completely normal, so I'm not sure what else it could be. I'm taking medication for acid reflux, but I'm still feeling pain and a sense of fullness in my chest. Can you help me figure out what's going on?

From your description, it sounds like you may be experiencing symptoms of acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In addition to the medication you are already taking for acid reflux, I recommend adding a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole 20mg once daily before breakfast to help further reduce stomach acid production and alleviate your symptoms. You can also consider taking an antacid like Tums as needed for immediate relief of heartburn. It's important to avoid trigger foods that may worsen your symptoms, such as spicy or acidic foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Additionally, elevating the head of your bed while sleeping and avoiding lying down right after meals can also help. If your symptoms persist despite these measures, further evaluation by a gastroenterologist may be necessary.

I've been dealing with some throat irritation on and off for the last couple of weeks, and now it feels like mucus is traveling from my throat down to my chest, especially after I eat. Eating doesn't bother me, but afterward, it feels like the mucus shifts to my chest, even though I don't have a cough, cold, or a fever. I've also noticed a bit of pain in the middle of my chest. Can you help me figure out what's going on?
