I've been taking amoxicillin and I've noticed I've got a rash now. I found online that penicillin-based antibiotics can have side effects like this. Should I stop taking the amoxicillin, or is it okay if I keep going but maybe take something like cetrizine to handle the allergy? I'm just really unsure about what's best to do here.

It is important to stop taking amoxicillin if you have developed a rash as it may indicate an allergic reaction. You should consult with your doctor to confirm the allergy and for further evaluation. In the meantime, you can take an antihistamine like Cetirizine to help with the rash and itching.

I'm noticing that my heart rate goes up whenever I eat eggs or meat, and it's a bit worrying because I've already consulted a cardiologist who said I don't have any heart problems. What could be causing this?

Increased heart rate after consuming certain foods like eggs or meat could be due to food sensitivities or allergies. In some cases, certain food additives or preservatives can also trigger such a response. To help manage this, you can try taking an antihistamine like Cetirizine (brand name Zyrtec) at a dose of 10mg before consuming these foods. Additionally, you can also try avoiding these trigger foods to see if your symptoms improve.

I'm really worried about my brother. He's been experiencing some alarming symptomshe feels like somethings grabbing his neck and has difficulty swallowing. This all started after he had some cake and cookies a couple of days ago. Initially, he had an allergy reaction on his lips and tongue followed by this chokelike sensation. Should we be concerned, and what kind of specialist would he need to see to get this checked out?

Your brother may be experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction, possibly leading to throat swelling or constriction known as angioedema. This can be a serious condition and requires immediate medical attention. He should seek help from an Emergency Room or Urgent Care center without delay. In the meantime, he can take an antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25-50mg every 4-6 hours to help with the allergic symptoms. However, this is not a substitute for professional medical evaluation and treatment. Please ensure he does not eat any more of the suspected allergen and avoids any triggers that may worsen his symptoms.
