I've been taking Evion LC because it was prescribed to me, but I've been feeling a bit down since starting it. Do you think I should try switching to Evion 400?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
It is unlikely that the symptoms of depression you are experiencing could be related to Evion LC. Evion LC contains a combination of Vitamin E and Levocarnitine. You can discuss with your doctor about switching to Evion 400, which contains only Vitamin E. The usual dosage of Evion 400 is 400 IU once daily. However, it is important to consult with your doctor before making any changes to your medication regimen.

I'm glad to hear that your cousin has completed the treatment for the STD and the infection has cleared up. However, the persistent penile discharge, although minimal, can be uncomfortable and concerning. To address this issue, I recommend the following steps: *Diagnostic Tests* 1. *Urine Test*: A urine test can help identify any underlying bacterial infections, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea. 2. *Urethral Swab*: A urethral swab can help detect any bacterial or fungal infections that may be causing the discharge. *STD Testing Centers in Pune* Here are some reputable testing centers in Pune where your cousin can get tested: 1. *National AIDS Research Institute (NARI)*: A government-funded institute that offers free STD testing, including HIV. - Address: 73, G Block, MIDC, Bhosari, Pune - 411026 - Phone: 020-27121024 2. *Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) STD Clinic*: Offers free STD testing and treatment. - Address: Pune Municipal Corporation, Main Building, Shivajinagar, Pune - 411005 - Phone: 020-25501000 3. *Private Labs*: Your cousin can also visit private labs like Dr. Lal PathLabs, SRL Diagnostics, or Metropolis Healthcare. - These labs usually offer a range of STD testing options, including bacterial and fungal infections. *Pre-Test Preparation* Before visiting any testing center, it's essential to: 1. *Abstain from urination*: For at least 2-3 hours before the test to ensure accurate results. 2. *Avoid using antibiotics or antiseptics*: For at least 24 hours before the test to prevent interference with test results. *Post-Test Care* After the test, your cousin should: 1. *Follow the doctor's advice*: Based on the test results, the doctor may prescribe antibiotics or other treatments. 2. *Practice good hygiene*: To prevent the spread of infection, your cousin should maintain good genital hygiene and use condoms during sexual intercourse.

I'm dealing with typhoid fever for the last four days and recently got a CRP test that came back showing 24 mgL, but I know the normal range should be lower. Is it possible for CRP levels to rise with typhoid? Can you suggest ways to manage typhoid and help lower CRP levels?
Yes, CRP (C-reactive protein) levels can rise during infections like typhoid fever as part of the body's inflammatory response. It's important to follow your doctor's treatment plan, which usually includes antibiotics, hydration, and rest. Additionally, a healthy diet with anti-inflammatory foods and proper hydration can help manage CRP levels. Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather with a sore throat and a cold. I'm wondering if Azithromycin or Augmentin would be better to take for this. Also, should it be for 3 days or is 5 days more effective? I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get back to feeling normal.
Azithromycin and Augmentin are both effective antibiotics. However, Azithromycin is often preferred due to its convenient once daily dosing and shorter treatment duration. I would recommend Azithromycin 500mg once daily for 3 days. This regimen is usually sufficient to treat throat infections caused by bacteria.
