I've been told I need surgery for a deviated septum and possibly nasal polyps, and the hospital quoted around 43,000 rupees. Could there be any serious complications during the procedure that might end up costing a lot more than the estimated amount? I'm a bit worried about unexpected expenses if something goes wrong

Yes, while the quoted price of 43,000 rupees for septoplasty (deviated septum surgery) and possible polyp removal is a good starting point, unexpected complications could lead to higher costs. These might include complications related to bleeding, infection, or the need for additional procedures to address complications like septal perforation

My 2-year-old son was born with an ear pit in his left ear, and it's gotten infected. We've already gone through a 2-week course of antibiotics and used topical ointments, but there's been no change. What should be our next step?

Consult an ENT specialist or a pediatric surgeon for further evaluation and guidance, as recurrent infections in preauricular pits often require surgical excision to prevent future complications; they may recommend imaging tests like ultrasound or MRI to assess the extent of the pit and surrounding tissue, and discuss surgical options to remove the pit and affected tissue.

I've been dealing with a throat infection for the past four days now and started antibiotics two days ago, but I'm not experiencing much relief. Is this normal, or should I be worried? Is there anything else I could be doing to help speed up the healing process?
