I've been using lip balm, but it doesn't seem to help with the chapping on my upper lip, which even extends upwards. I'm also noticing dry and white patches forming. What could be causing this, and how can I treat it?

View allHey, I've been reading up about macular amyloidosis and the dark spots that come with it. I've heard surgery could be a solution, but is it permanent? Are there any other treatments that might help reduce the discoloration without going under the knife? Just trying to figure out the best way to handle this. Couldn't hurt to ask, right?
