I've been washing my eyes with tap water every few hours lately, but they started burning every time I did it. I just discovered that the Dettol Liquid Handwash I use might not rinse off completely and could be the reason for the burning and irritation in my eyes. I skipped washing my eyes today and haven't experienced any symptoms. Could this soap residue be causing problems for my eyes in the long run?

You can flush your eye with clean water for at least 15 minutes to help relieve the symptoms. You can use lubricating eye drops like Refresh Tears or Systane Ultra to soothe the eye. If the symptoms persist or worsen, please consult an ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment.
