I've got a 10mm stone in my right kidney and it's been causing me some on-and-off pain on the right side of my stomach. I'm really concerned about it and was wondering if you could share some advice or insights on what I should do or expect. It's been quite uncomfortable, and Im just trying to figure out the best way forward.

Forteo and Terifrac are essentially the same medication, teriparatide, used to treat osteoporosis. The difference lies in the manufacturer:
- Forteo: Eli Lilly and Company
- Terifrac: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries
Since your mother has used Terifrac for 6 months, it's likely okay to continue. However, consult her doctor to:
- Assess progress
- Determine if switching to Forteo is necessary
- Discuss potential side effects and long-term treatment plans
Typically, teriparatide treatment is limited to 24 months.

I have a 10mm stone stuck in my mid ureter and considering surgery but wondering if ESWL could work instead to break it up
Surgery recommended methods are shock wave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolitomy etc depending on the stone size. Here ureteroscopy is advised.
