I've got some concerns about my cholesterol and liver enzyme levels. My total cholesterol is at 254 and LDL is 166. On top of that, my SGPT is 108 and SGOT is 120. My doctor is recommending statins, but I'm wondering if that's really necessary? Could I just stick to a healthy diet instead? Would love another perspective on this.

I sometimes experience this sharp, pricking sensation in my chest, but it only lasts for a few seconds. My dad is 55 and just had a treadmill test that showed inducible ischemia. The doctor recommended an angio does this mean there's a blockage? Can this be treated with meds or will he need surgery? If it gets treated, could it come back later? Also, does this raise his risk of heart failure? Really concerned about what this means for him.
