I've noticed a lump between my ear and jaw that's been sore for about three days now. It hasn't changed in size and doesn't seem like it can move around. I'm 18, so I'm a bit worried. Any idea what it might be?

Excessive sneezing and nasal congestion can be frustrating!

Given your symptoms and the ineffectiveness of Fexofenadine, consider the following options:

  1. Consult an Allergist: For comprehensive allergy testing to identify specific allergens triggering your symptoms.
  2. Nasal Sprays: Add a nasal spray to your treatment, such as:
    • Azelastine (antihistamine)
    • Fluticasone (steroid)
    • Ipratropium (anticholinergic)
  3. Immunotherapy: If allergy testing reveals specific allergens, consider immunotherapy (allergy shots or sublingual tablets) for long-term relief.
  4. Saline Nasal Irrigation: Regularly rinse your nasal passages with a saline solution to remove allergens and reduce congestion.
  5. HEPA Filters: Use HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters in your home to reduce allergen exposure.

Discuss these options with your ENT doctor or allergist to determine the best course of action for your specific situation.

I'm pretty worried because out of the blue, my husband has this tiny lump on the side of his neck, near the left. I've snapped a pic to show it because I'm not sure what it could be. Should we be concerned about this? Do you think it's best to see a general physician or maybe an ENT specialist for this kind of thing?

Swollen lymph nodes are usually a sign that the body is fighting an infection. However, without further evaluation, it is difficult to determine the exact cause. I recommend consulting with a general physician first for an initial evaluation. The general physician may refer you to an ENT specialist if further investigation is needed. In the meantime, you can give him over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen for any discomfort.

Is there a natural or Ayurvedic way to fix DNS without surgery? Can sutra neti help correct it or are there any other non-surgical treatments that work?

some non-surgical treatments can help manage symptoms of a deviated nasal septum (DNS), they cannot fix the underlying structural issue. Surgery, specifically septoplasty, is generally considered the only effective way to correct a deviated septum Yes, Ayurveda can offer natural remedies for sinusitis and potential relief from breathing difficulties caused by a deviated septum (DNS), even if surgery is not desired. Ayurvedic practices like Nasya, Neti, and lifestyle changes can help manage symptoms and potentially improve breathing
