I've noticed my wife has been dealing with breathlessness for the last 4 years. She often feels like she needs to take deep breaths just to feel comfortable, even when she's just sitting around doing nothing. Sometimes, these episodes of breathlessness disappear for days. What could be causing this, and should we be worried?

Pregnancy and Urine Infection

23 Weeks Pregnant with Recurring Urine Infection

Test Results:

  1. RBC (2-4): Slightly elevated, indicating some bleeding in the urinary tract.
  2. Epithelial cells (25-30): Elevated, suggesting irritation or inflammation in the urinary tract.
  3. Pus cells (10-15): Elevated, indicating a bacterial infection.

Recommended Actions:

  1. Consult your obstetrician: Inform your doctor about the test results and recurring urine infections.
  2. Antibiotics: Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics safe for pregnancy to treat the bacterial infection.
  3. Urinary tract infection (UTI) prevention:
    • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
    • Urinate when you feel the need, don't delay.
    • Wipe from front to back to prevent bacterial transfer.
    • Avoid tight-fitting clothing and wear cotton underwear.

Follow-up:

  1. Repeat urine tests: Schedule follow-up urine tests to monitor the infection and ensure it's clearing up.
  2. Monitor for symptoms: Keep an eye on symptoms like burning during urination, frequent urination, or abdominal pain.

I'm experiencing this pain on the backside when I take deep breaths, and it's also there, but milder, when I breathe normally. It's been going on for a while, and I'm not sure what it could mean. Should I be worried about this, or is it something that usually goes away on its own? What might be causing it?

It sounds like you may be experiencing muscle strain or inflammation in the ribcage or intercostal muscles, which can cause pain during deep breathing. However, it's important to rule out any underlying conditions, such as lung or kidney issues. I recommend seeing a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation.

I've had a cough and minor fever that started about 10 days ago. I took some medicine for it, but my cough still hasn't gotten any better. The fever usually kicks in during the evening, but not so much in the noon. Lately, my cough has gotten really bad, and it's so intense sometimes that it makes me vomit. I've also noticed a bit of blood in the mornings after coughing. The cough feels like it's coming from my chest rather than my throat. Could you help me figure out what might be going on?

I've been dealing with this constant cough and breathing issues for a few days now, even though I'm on a daily dose of Symbicort for my bronchitis asthma. I'm starting to get really worried because I'm not sure what else I can do. Can you recommend a good pulmonologist I could see, or suggest any other steps I might take to help manage this? It's been pretty stressful not knowing how to handle it.
