I've recently noticed a black spot on my toe after a foot massage. It's under the skin and doesn't go away even after cleaning. I'm a 28-year-old female and just wondering what this spot could be. Could you help me understand if this is something to worry about?

View allI've got this black mark on my skin from an oil splash that turned red, and even though I used boroline, the mark's still there. What ointment should I use to help fade it away?
A splash of oil can sometimes cause skin irritation and lead to discoloration. To help fade the black mark left by the oil, you can apply a skin lightening cream containing hydroquinone, such as Melalite cream. Apply a thin layer of Melalite cream on the affected area once daily in the evening. Make sure to use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from further darkening.

I've been using Getlite cream with hydroquinone and mometasone for the last two years. Now my skin's gone really white, but when I try to stop using the cream, my skin gets darker, even worse than before. Im worried its not good to keep using it long-term because of potential problems. I'm really hoping to stop using this cream. How can I wean off of it and keep my skin looking healthy without going back to how it was? A neighbor, who's a pharmacist, recommended it, but I'm not sure what to do. Any advice on maintaining my skins glow once I stop this cream?
