My 3-year-old son has a painless dermoid cyst on his forehead near the eyebrow area with no signs of infection so far. Is surgery necessary to remove it or are there other treatment options? If surgery is needed, how long does the procedure usually take?

My ultrasound showed an umbilical hernia with omentum herniation that's irreducible and has thickening. There's mention of strangulation too. Since it's only omentum involved, is surgery absolutely necessary or can we manage without it?
