I have been experiencing cough and cold for 4 days, with a mild fever between 99 and 100.5F over the last two days, which subsided after taking PCM. Today, as advised by my doctor, I had a blood test. The results show ESR 40, while hemoglobin and platelet count are normal. I am confused about why my ESR is high. I experience cough and phlegm whenever I am exposed to cold air. Even slight cold makes my body feel cool and triggers coughing and phlegm. My blood tests are all normal except for ESR, which is 52. My temperature is 96.5F, and I do not have fever, runny nose, or sneezing. Can someone help me understand what might be causing this?
