My brother was diagnosed with typhoid two days ago, but we only got to know today after his blood report confirmed it. We have been in close contact with him. What are the chances that we might also get typhoid? If there is a risk, is there any precautionary medicine we can take to avoid falling ill?

Typhoid spreads via contaminated food/water, not casual contact. If you shared utensils or drank same water, there is a chance. Stay alert for fever, fatigue, stomach symptoms. No preventive meds unless symptoms start. Maintain strict hygiene.

View allI have done a Widal test, and the results are positive: S. Typhi O is 1:160 and S. Typhi H is 1:80. I am not having any fever at the moment. Are these values considered high, medium, or low? How long will it take to recover, and could you please suggest any appropriate treatment or medicines?
