My dad has been diagnosed with a disc problem in his spine and the doctor said he might need surgery and complete bed rest. I need a medical certificate for his condition to apply for my job transfer how do I go about getting this from a doctor?

My dad's MRI shows a diffuse bulge in L23 disc with right paracentral protrusion pressing on the right L3 nerve root, plus a diffuse bulge at L34 causing mild narrowing of the L3 neural foramina. He also has mild generalized arthropathy. He's dealing with constant back pain and leg pain is surgery the only option or can meds help manage this?

I've been diagnosed with multiple lumbar ligamentum flavum issues and a couple of disc bulges in my lower back. The pain is really intense, and I'm also dealing with bowel and bladder problems along with ED. I'm only 30 is surgery the only way to fix this completely or are there other options I can explore?
