My daughter is 7 and has started complaining about chest pain recently. She had a brain hemorrhage right after birth but recovered well from that. She never mentioned any pain like this before. Could you please give me some advice on what might be causing this?

Chest pain in children can have various causes, including respiratory infections, muscle strain, or even anxiety. However, given your daughter's history of a brain hemorrhage, it is important to rule out any serious underlying conditions. I recommend you take her to a pediatrician for a thorough evaluation. In the meantime, you can give her Children's Tylenol (acetaminophen) at a dose appropriate for her age and weight to help with any discomfort.

My 2-month-old preterm baby born at 35 weeks was diagnosed with a 6mm VSD, 3mm ASD, and moderate PDA, all left-to-right shunts. She weighs 3.5kg now and has no symptoms feeding well, gaining weight, and passing urine/stool normally. We've seen 23 pediatric cardiologists, and all recommend surgery but with different timelines some say immediately, others say before 6 months or until she's 1 year and 10kg. Since she's doing fine now, when would be the right time for surgery?

A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.

My 1.5-month-old son was diagnosed with 1108mm c shunting ltrt. Can this resolve on its own or does he need surgery? How long can we wait before deciding? He's breathing a bit fast and has had a cold since 23 weeks. I've attached his report what do you suggest?

In your 1.5-month-old son’s case, C-shunting may resolve on its own, but surgery is often required for significant cases. Consult with a pediatric cardiologist for a more accurate assessment.

My 1-month-old son was diagnosed with VSD and ASD. The report says he might need surgery or a device closure. Should we act on this right away or is it okay to wait a bit longer? What signs should we watch for if it gets worse?

If baby’s weight gain and oxygen levels are normal, wait; act if breathing, feeding, or heart symptoms worsen.
