My dentist recommended flap surgery for gingivitis but I'm not sure if it's really needed. Do I have to get the dental X-ray they mentioned or is there another way to check the problem?

View allI'm pretty sure I've got a canker sore on my palatoglossal arch, and it's been growing. There's no headache or stomach pain, just pain right where the ulcer seems to be. If it's not a canker sore, what else could it be? It's been around for a week now and isn't showing any signs of shrinking or healing. What should I do to treat it? I'm starting to get a bit worried.
consult a ENT specialist for further management. Any long standing ulcer should be biopsied and ruled out for malignancy.

I'm really worried. A couple of days ago, I accidentally hit my wife on her right cheek, and now her jaw on that side is swollen. It was starting to get better, and she didn't have any pain for about two weeks. But suddenly, yesterday, she's in a lot of pain again, and the swelling has increased. Should we see a dentist, or would a regular doctor be better for this?
visit a surgeon it would be better
