my doctor just diagnosed me with an inguinal hernia and recommended surgery but I'm confused about which option is better - laparoscopic or open surgery also which one has a lower chance of the hernia coming back later

Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair generally offers benefits like faster recovery and less pain compared to open surgery, but there's no significant difference in recurrence rates between the two. Ultimately, the best approach depends on individual factors and surgeon experience

I've had pain during bowel movements and constipation for 15 days with a little blood today. The doctor says it's a fissure and recommends surgery costing ?‚Äö¬π10,000. My dad earns ?‚Äö¬π10,000/month - is surgery really necessary at 17 or are there other options?
Fissure can often heal with ointments, sitz baths, and fiber—surgery is not first-line at your age.

What can I take to manage hernia pain at home since I can't get surgery right now? It's really uncomfortable and I need some relief
Hernia pain can be managed temporarily with rest, abdominal binders, and analgesics, but surgery is the only definitive treatment.
