My father has easily bruising skin, especially in a particular season. There is no pain or itching. We have done a blood report, which shows a low platelet count, which may indicate a purpura-like condition.

Easy bruising and low platelet count could point to a condition like ITP or a temporary reaction to an infection. If the platelet count stays low consistently, your father may need a more detailed blood and liver workup. It is best to consult a hematologist to understand the cause and decide whether treatment or observation is required.

My 5 years 4 months old daughter, weighing 19 kg, has been having fever. We visited the hospital and the doctor advised CALPAL if fever is more than 101F and MEFTHAL P if more than 101F, and asked us to revisit after 2 days if the fever persisted. The fever has been on and off with medicine. We consulted the doctor again. She prescribed an antibiotic syrup (ZIPRAX 100) and suggested a CBC test. The results are mostly normal, but the platelet count is 1.20 L/mm (I understand the normal range should be 1.5 to 4 L/mm). Today, my daughter is also feeling dull. What should be done?
