My father is suffering from low platelet count. Every time his test report shows between 45,000 to 15,000 per microliter. He was admitted to the hospital for a week, and the last day report showed 95,000 per microliter. Now the doctor has recommended a bone marrow test. Our whole family is worried. Please suggest. I am from Kanpur, UP.

Repeatedly low platelet count warrants a bone marrow test to identify possible marrow disorders. The test will help rule out serious causes. Follow your hematologists advice.
