My grandmother has been taking Montek LC for about three months now because she started having a mild cough after her cardiac surgery, due to pleural effusion. I'm just a bit worried about whether there might be any side effects from using this medication for such a long period. Also, can it affect her kidneys in any way?

Montek LC, which combines montelukast and levocetirizine, is generally safe for long-term use, but prolonged use can sometimes cause mild side effects like dry mouth, drowsiness, or dizziness. It is not typically harsh on the kidneys, but it's important to monitor kidney function, especially in older adults, during extended use. Regular follow-ups with her doctor would be helpful.

View allI woke up this morning and suddenly started sweating and felt really dizzy, but it only lasted for about 5 minutes. Could you help me understand what might have caused this?
Sudden sweating and dizziness upon waking, lasting only 5 minutes, could be due to various factors, including a temporary drop in blood pressure, low blood sugar, anxiety or panic attack, dehydration, or even a minor vasovagal episode, but if such episodes recur or worsen, consult a doctor to rule out underlying conditions.

In my air force medical exam, they said I'm unfit because of something called a CVS review. I'm pretty worried about what this means for me. Can you explain what CVS review medical unfitness is all about? Is it a serious issue?

I've been having pain on the left side of my neck and shoulder for the past couple of weeks, and sometimes I feel some chest pain too. I went to the doctor and got an ECG, but it came back normal. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I see a cardiologist or maybe an orthopedic doctor? It's really starting to worry me, and I'd appreciate some advice on the next steps.
