My husband's sonogram shows an anterior low anal intersphincteric fistula at the 12 o'clock position with an internal opening at the low anal level. The report says both internal and external sphincters are normal. He had a pus-filled abscess that burst on its own and keeps coming back, but no other symptoms like constipation, pain during bowel movements, or blood in stool. The doctor recommended surgery but didn't prescribe any meds. Since he's otherwise healthy, is surgery really necessary?

I have a perianal abscess and can't afford surgery right now. Is there any medication or home treatment that can help manage it? What are my options if I can only do medical treatment for now?
A small perianal abscess may resolve with antibiotics, but surgery is usually needed to prevent recurrence. Sitz baths and painkillers help symptomatically.

I've had this small lump on my stomach for years now and I'm not sure what to do about it. Should I see a skin specialist or just go to my general physician first? Could it be something that needs surgery or is there another way to remove it? It doesn't hurt but I'm starting to get concerned since it's been there so long.
sx opinion.
