My hypothyroidism has been detected since last 6 years and I have been taking 75 mcg fixed dose of Thyronorm tablet with regular blood tests and check ups. Thankfully I have been able to maintain my TSH level in normal range for many years. But yesterday I got my report and my TSH level is 6.26 uIU per ml. I have been taking regular medicines. Is there anything to worry? What can I do to prevent TSH from increasing?

Your TSH level of 6.26 is mildly elevated despite regular thyronorm intake. While its not alarmingly high, it may need dose adjustment. Continue taking thyronorm exactly as prescribed empty stomach, no food for 30 to 45 minutes after. Avoid missing doses and check for interfering foods or medications. Discuss with your doctor whether a small increase in dose is needed.

My mother has been a hypothyroidism patient for the past 5 years. Her latest test report from Thyrocare shows a very low TSH value, while T3 and T4 levels are within the normal range. Before consulting any specialist, I would like to understand the details of her case, confirm the diagnosis, and know if any additional tests or special investigations are required.
