My mom is 58 and had spine surgery 5 months ago for a small fracture she's still on meds for that. She also takes steroids and folic acid tabs for rheumatoid arthritis. Is it safe for her to get the COVID vaccine

I'm really worried about my mom. Her ESR level is at 70 and her blood pressure is 180. Can you guide us on how to lower her ESR? Which type of doctor should we consult for this issue?

It is important to consult with a doctor before starting any medication regimen. For her high blood pressure of 180, she should consult a cardiologist for further evaluation and management. In the meantime, she can take antihypertensive medication like Amlodipine. It is important to monitor her blood pressure regularly and follow up with the appropriate specialists for further management.

I'm really worried about my mom. She's been dealing with leg pain and swelling for the past year, and nothing seems to be helping. We've done all the tests the doctor recommended, like thyroid checks and X-rays, and they all came back negative. We even tried two months of massage and Ayurvedic treatment, but there's no improvement. The swelling and pain are so bad she can hardly walk. What do you suggest we do next?

Most leg pain results from wear and tear, overuse, or injuries in joints or bones or in muscles, ligaments, tendons or other soft tissues. Some types of leg pain can be traced to problems in your lower spine. Leg pain can also be caused by blood clots, varicose veins or poor circulation. .. . To relieve mild pain and swelling: Stay off your leg as much as possible, Apply an ice pack to the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day, Elevate your leg whenever you sit or lie down, Try over-the-counter pain relievers .
