My mother has been diagnosed with carcinoma in the gallbladder, with some spread to the liver. After undergoing liver surgery, she has developed ascites (fluid accumulation in the abdomen). Her recent blood reports show low albumin levels.

Post gallbladder carcinoma surgery with liver involvement, ascites can occur due to reduced liver function. Low albumin may result from poor liver protein synthesis or malnutrition. Albumin infusions, diuretics (like spironolactone), salt restriction, and nutritional support may be advised.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a LIVER FUNCTION TEST (LFT) Test or Take a ALBUMIN - SERUM Test
