My pneumonectomy stump has a 6mm opening that hasn't closed even after keeping an ICD for two weeks to drain the cavity. The cavity level has reduced, but the stump opening stays the same size as before. I'm looking for treatment options other than surgery what can be done to help this heal properly?

I'm really worried about my condition. I got a chest X-ray and have been dealing with a 98.8-degree fever in the evenings along with an irritated throat and mucus. I've been dealing with a cough on and off for about three months now. It always seems to go away when I take antibiotics, but as soon as I have something cold, the cough comes right back with wheezing. Tab augmentin duo 625mg ,orally ,thrice daily for 5 days advised to the patient.Also syrup salbutamol 10ml thrice daily for 7 days is advised to the patient.Steam inhalation is also advised twice
