My urine culture shows E. coli resistant to many drugs, including ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin. However, in a different, well established lab (operating since 1965), the same test done three times shows the bacteria are susceptible to these drugs. Which lab results should I trust? How is it possible to get two different results for the same bacteria? The prior lab used automated sensitivity testing, while the other lab reports in vitro DST results

Different labs use different methods, cut offs. Automated may detect low resistance. Follow report from trusted lab. Repeat Urine Culture (same lab) if unsure. Consult doctor before antibiotic change.

I am unmarried. I had a diagnostic and operative laparoscopy for endometriotic cysts (size 3x2x1 cm). After one month from surgery, I was put on Duphaston tablets. After three months from surgery, I got an USG done. It stated there is evidence of cystic lesion with internal echoes and septations in left adnexa about 4.3x4.2 cm. The impression mentioned is left adnexa haemorrhagic cyst. Along with this, I have symptom of constant urge to urinate. I also had this same symptom prior to surgery. I am currently taking Femilon as suggested and my gynaecologist prescribed medicines like Urifast and some antibiotics for this urinary sensation. My urine report is normal. My doctor said the cyst is functional. But I am worried as I am getting these urinary symptoms which are similar to my prior surgery symptoms. My pelvic pain has reduced, though not completely gone. I am still worried. Please suggest? I have attached USG report.
