My urine culture shows E. coli resistant to many drugs, including ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin. However, in a different, well established lab (operating since 1965), the same test done three times shows the bacteria are susceptible to these drugs. Which lab results should I trust? How is it possible to get two different results for the same bacteria? The prior lab used automated sensitivity testing, while the other lab reports in vitro DST results

Different labs use different methods, cut offs. Automated may detect low resistance. Follow report from trusted lab. Repeat Urine Culture (same lab) if unsure. Consult doctor before antibiotic change.

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend, after which I experienced a burning sensation while urinating and yellowish penile discharge. I got my penile discharge tested at a lab, and the report states No gonococci seen, few gram negative coccobacilli seen, and large number of pus cells seen. What does this mean?
