My wife has been dealing with a CSF leak since March 21st what should we be doing at home to help her feel better? Also, any idea how much the surgery might cost?

While a CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak is best treated under the supervision of a doctor, some initial conservative measures can be taken at home to manage symptoms and potentially help the leak heal. These include bed rest, increased fluid intake, and avoiding activities that increase head pressure The cost of CSF leak surgery in India varies, but generally, an endoscopic repair procedure can cost around ‚Çπ2.5 lakh. However, some cases may have lower costs, and in some instances, procedures have been performed free of cost

View allMy dad is 59 and has had sciatica pain from a slipped disc between L4-L5 for 10 years. Doctors recommended surgery but said it might not last and could have lifelong risks, so we stuck with physio and meds. Now he's getting numbness and pain in his leg and fingers. Should we consider surgery now or keep trying physio and meds?
New numbness and worsening sciatica after long-term conservative care may indicate nerve compression—surgical decompression may now offer better relief and prevent damage.

My mom has an 8mm brain aneurysm on the left side but she's totally fine walks 2km daily and does all her housework. The doctor recommended clipping surgery, but since she has no symptoms now, I'm worried about the risks and success rate. Should we go ahead with the surgery?
Whether to proceed with surgery for an unruptured brain aneurysm, like your mom's 8mm one, is a complex decision. While the aneurysm is currently asymptomatic and your mom is active, the potential for rupture is a significant risk to consider. A ruptured aneurysm can cause a stroke, which can lead to severe neurological damage and long-term complications.
