Sir, I am a 28 year old male. Fifteen days ago, I had a fever, and the doctor ordered a blood test. Typhoid was positive, and my direct bilirubin level was elevated, while total bilirubin was normal. For the past three days, I have had slight stomach upset and nausea. Please help me. What should I do? I have attached my bilirubin test report.

Typhoid can mildly affect liver and cause nausea or bilirubin elevation. Continue soft diet, stay hydrated. If symptoms persist, repeat liver function test and consult a doctor.

I had a Widal test for typhoid, and the result came back positive. The report also notes that titres in excess of 1:80 are probably significant.
